A Scottish NHS health board is on target to save 100,000k in the first year since installing ABB drives & motors on their air handling systems.The age of the machinery, the cost of the maintenance & the energy costs involved in running the older plant were becoming onerous.
EDC mounted the ABB ACH580 drives local to the AHUs and installed new, high-efficiency motors, (each AHU having 2 motors and 2 vsds). Prior to the installation an independent company monitored the airflow. This information was then passed to EDC to ensure that the airflow at the time of commissioning was not affected.
An intricate operation all-round, the project was managed from start to finish by our own in-house team, headed up by Irfan Aslam. And the prognosis? It's excellent.
