Semi-skilled / Electrician's Mate / Electrical Labourer - 2 positions
We are looking for a talented and motivated semi-skilled person to join our engineering team. Ideally suited to a good communicator, be motivated and show confidence whilst working alongside our engineers helping and supporting them whilst learning from them.
The successful candidate will be expected to complete the following tasks: -
• Labouring to the engineer
• Assisting in tray work
• Panel assembly work.
• Servicing of VSD units.
• Assisting in electrical installations: - drilling for glands and running steel wire armours neatly along cable containment.
• Once trained with the service team, eventually complete drive service and report writing.
Not one day will be the same and with the correct individual and correct attitude you will almost be guaranteed to enjoy working within EDC who are very much so a family company with all long-term employees.

Day to Day activities
As a semi-skilled individual, the right candidate would be required to attend customer sites throughout Scotland working alongside our engineers in whatever task is required of you, when not on site you will be present within our workshop completing other tasks that are requested of you.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your routine duties will vary, but you will be expected to:
The Role
• Assist qualified engineers in their duties.
• Complete tasks to the best of your ability.
• Keep the work area clean and tidy.
• Follow instruction to complete tasks.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Always be safe.
• Build a relationship with our customers and staff.
• Managing your time to the best of your ability and not distracted with social media.
• Learning the products we sell and use at EDC for site work and inhouse thus giving the engineers the confidence that you have an understood and that you are learning and maintaining information given.
• Follow instruction.
Skill Set
• Basic use of office-based programmes such as Excel & Word for report writing.
• Flexible with working hours if required.
• Safe when working.
• Good under pressure & able to support your work colleagues.
• Presentable with good timekeeping.
• Adaptable & willing to learn.
• Be able to work within a team and not be aggressive towards people.
• Understanding that everyone has different needs.
• Electrical knowledge would be an advantage.
Experience Required
• Full UK driving licence
• Role would suit an enthusiastic person looking to progress through life and learn new tasks on a day-to-day experience
• Have an electrical safety awareness
• Background of labouring alongside others.
General Terms & Conditions
• Core hours of work will be from 8-30 am to 5pm Monday to Thursday
• Friday 8-30am to 4-30pm
• Flexibility is necessary in this role, with occasional overnight stays away from home (expenses paid)
• A half hour per day is allowed for lunch
• Annual leave is 35 days.
• EOT Tax Efficient Bonus Scheme (details will be explained in person)

• Eligible for pension scheme
• A 3-month probation period will apply for this position
• Salary Expectations negotiable depending on experience
