ABB Value Provider
EDC is Scotland's only accredited Value Provider for variable speed drives & motors and one of the founder members of the original ABB Drives Alliance. But what does that mean?
For our customers, it's a guarantee that our sales and technical teams are on a par with ABB's own engineers - and ABB both trains us at their own universities (and audits us) to this effect. Accredited Value Provider (VP) status also comes with obligations and responsibilities:
- ABB drives have to be held in stock to ensure a prompt delivery.
- Service suitcases have to be on hand for emergency breakdowns.
- Our dedicated sales team has to have up-to-the minute information and product knowledge.
- Our ABB trained & certified engineers have to have the very highest standard of technical expertise, and know ABB variable speed drives inside out.
In addition, VPs need to be able to provide our customers with a range of services: VSD training, energy audits, preventative maintenance, service care contracts, harmonic surveys and a comprehensive drive repair service . In short, to be an ABB VP we need to offer not just sales, but also support, service and engineering expertise to a level which meets ABB's very high standards. And we do.
ABB Value Providers: rapid, effective support. When you need it & where you need it.
But being an VP also comes with a host of benefits for those motivated and talented enough to gain accreditation. It means we have access to unparalleled support from ABB in the form of training, marketing and lead generation.
As ABB says, the VP programme was set up to recognise providers who offered "high quality and globally consistent customer service and support" - standing by customers throughout the life-cycle of the product. They continue: "The authorisation program is a procedure to guarantee that the services the customer receives from the ABB value providers are on the same leading level as the quality of the ABB products, both globally and locally. Once certified as ABB authorised channels, our partners have in-depth knowledge of local markets and are conversant with the defined ABB products and processes."
Carrying the VP logo has become a matter of pride - it's not something which is given out lightly, and EDC has worked for over 20 years to achieve and maintain the level of service which makes us the standard bearer for ABB drives and motors in Scotland.
